Ski & Ride School

Ski & Ride School and “Gudauri Marco Polo” offer training alpine skiing and snowboarding for three levels of skiers:

• First-timers

  At this level of skiing it is offered to master the technique of skiing until the main turning on the parallel skis inclusive.

• Skiers

  Improve your technique of skiing on hillocks, virgin or hard snow under guidance of an experienced instructor. This category is great for people having experience of skiing on groomed slopes.

• Experts

  Category for skiers and snowboarders having experience, good technical and physical training, but wishing to improve their skills of skiing on all types of hillside, to master the freestyle elements in a specially prepared park or on natural terrain and to pass a school of freeride.

Freeride School

Freeride with guides

The program is for skiers and boarders skiing steadily on the groomers and having experience in off-track skiing.

We will show new routes of ski slopes in well-studied areas, find new soft ground on a seemingly rolled mountain. You will learn to evaluate the slopes properly, to choose safer routes, to use avalanche equipment and radio, assess avalanche situation, will get off-track skiing skills in a small group. In order to achieve the most interesting areas it is possible skiing up from the rope way station (from 30 min. up to 2 hours). While skiing you can use the snowcat and snowmobile.

In the course of the program, the trainings to ensure the safety of off-track skiing are conducted as well:

• Training in the use of special equipment (avalanche and belay).

• Skill trainings in dislocations and belay for different types of mountain terrain (avalanche slopes, cliffs, gullies).

• Skill trainings in cooperation and assistance in the group.

Backcountry Freeride

The program is for skiers and boarders with a good physical form, confidently skiing off-track.

During extended skiing (2 to 6 hours) using snowshoes or ski equipment for the ski tour, you will find yourself in seldom visited areas with greater opportunities for off-track skiing.

The emotional component of such routes is very high. During the ups and off-track slopes in the process of communication with the guides you will learn the mountain better, we will explain how to pass the safest route of ascent and descent, conduct trainings in avalanche equipment and radio communication in the mountains, learn to use the climbing equipment. It is also available taking photos and video by professional guide operator so you can get back into the eternal kingdom of mountains during city long evenings.

Freestyle

It is better to start skiing in a snow park under the supervision of an experienced instructor. In addition to the properly selected training program and tricks performing techniques, the instructor will look after safety of pupil, advise the correct stance and speed when approaching the trick, explain the rules of skiing in snowboard park.

Gudauri has all the conditions for development of freestyle. Wide boxes will help to overcome the fear of skiing on rails and small correctly deduced jumps will give new and interesting experience without much risk.

Heliskiing

The feeling that comes when you look at untouched snow and know that you will be the first who see it and are able to touch this beauty, it is simply impossible to describe in words. It is necessary to experience it yourself. That’s why we offer you to try yourself in skiing such as heliskiing.

Heli-ski is a type of free-ride the essence of which is in skiing down to the untouched snow slopes. To the start of the slope the skiers get with the help of a helicopter allowing you to choose the most optimal routes. But when you find yourself on the snow, you’ll like this – to feel yourself as the conqueror of pristine nature and the mighty snow environment.

To make you feel confident and secure, each group of skiers is accompanied by the experienced professional guides and instructors, as well as they use reliable certified equipment and machinery.
